The pursuit of Balance

Discovering things is what great people do. Re-discovering and realizing the already discovered things is done by some people like me. Although I know that the transformation from undergrad to graduate life is tough(esp when ppl keep on saying this at the time of orientation), I realized it a bit late. Great persons achieve great heights, not by just being intelligent or by being energetic. The trick is to keep one's balance. Balance against everyimportantthing vs everyotherimportantthing. It might be balance of study vs relationships. Or balance of playing vs productivity. A too much of one things causes suffering in other. Thus I say, keeping balance is an art(Aart), not everyone can make it happen.

Happened to came across the word idiot-savants recently, which means person who excel in one field but fail in other. One can have the ability to turn coffee into a beautiful complex mathematical theorems but fail in achieving contentment in relationships and more importantly in life. I know its tough. Its tough to maintain all kinds of activities in the tiny grey matter of brain, which is limited by what can fit through a women's pelvis. They(idiotic savants) do kinda useful to this society in that they are the examples to other people in demonstrating how far our brainpower can aspire and reach them.

Keeping balance is such an important thing in life to achieve our goals inorder to receive personal satisfaction, whatever the goals might be. One should always be vigilant enough to restore balance if it seems to go out of tracks. One can get better in being aware of this by experimentation. You can only pursue balance, but never achieve it at any point of time. There is no such thing like "Im balanced now" in life. Keep checking and keep correcting your course. Aim for balance and keep aiming. This is what exactly a man with a pole trying to walk on a rope does. There is no such time point of being in a motionless state. The process never stops and the more aware you are about when you lose balance, the more you are moving closer and closer in pursuing balance.

Balance is the practice of pratises. It is neverending....(Inspired from Will Smith's The pursuit of Happyness)
